About Andrew Adames:

Originally from the Bronx, New York, Andrew Adames is a Dominican-American artist who creates black-and-white paintings with a surrealist and pointillist touch. He incorporates iconic cultural figures from Bugs Bunny to Jesus Christ into his work while also taking images from his dreams and memories. With his wide range of imagery, Adames channels a sense of darkness with humor and light, pulling from a mixture of prophetic visions and personal trauma. Each painting intends to elicit meditative and digestive thoughts from the viewer. Adames has a degree in Digital Arts & Design and currently works as a Creative Director in addition to being a founding member of Planta Industrial - a Dominican post-punk, alternative music duo.
